Disability and sexuality
This website is for people with little knowledge about sexuality. It is used by people with disabilities. teenagers, and others. It has a place where people can ask any question they want about sexuality. The questions will be answered by Susan who is a sex counselor, a person with a disability, a parent of a self-advocate, and is a disability activist. You can find links to other sites about sexuality issues. There is a link to a Yahoo discussion group Susan moderates. Susan’s resume is on the site if you want to check her out. You can also email Susan privately. In the spring of 2003 there will be a safer sex store, too.

The Sexual Health Network, Inc. (TSHN) is an Internet publishing and broadcasting company dedicated to providing easy access to information, education, counseling, specialized products, and other resources for people with disabilities, chronic conditions, or natural changes throughout the lifecycle and those who love them or care for them.TSHN was founded in 1996 by Dr. Mitchell Tepper, who suffered a spinal cord injury in 1982. At the time, it was extremely difficult for most people – especially people with disabilities, chronic illnesses, or age-related physical changes – to access sexual health care from traditional sources. Healthcare professionals rarely received sexuality-related training and were often uncomfortable discussing sexual issues, so tended to ignore their patients’ sexual health concerns. This silence caused tremendous, unnecessary suffering. Dr. Tepper recognized that the World Wide Web was a means of meeting the need for high-quality, reputable sexuality information and education for both the professional and the consumer markets.

SIXPO (Sexuality, Inclusion and Exploration) is a festival organized by and for folks with disabilities. In order to be as accessible as possible, the 2023 festival will be a hybrid model, meaning that some events will be online and others will be in person. We hope to bring together a diverse group of people to discuss topics of sexuality in a supportive, collaborative and welcoming environment
